The Mission of Elysian Fields Environmental Defense Fund (EFEDF):
Our mission is to take action to protect and conserve the natural resources surrounding Elysian Fields, Texas through defending the legal rights of persons that protect the environment and the health and wellbeing of community residents.
At present, a 186.7 acre O&G solid waste landfill (known as the Harrison County STF) and saltwater injection well have been permitted in our backyard, just miles from our elementary, middle school and high school campus and homes. Right below it, the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer, the second largest drinking water source in Texas.
